Fresh new menu

Our new Spring/Summer menu has arrived!

Delicious new additions

We’ve updated our breakfast menu and have some delicious new additions, including ‘The Spiced Veggie’ with smashed avocado, 2 poached Leckie free range eggs, roasted cherry tomatoes and chilli on toasted sourdough. If you’re after something smaller why not try our ricotta and runny honey on sourdough toast or a delicious breakfast roll with bacon made by our butchers. All of the classics such as the Full Smiddy Breakfast and Eggs Benedict are still on offer.

We took on board feedback from customers and have a larger range of sandwiches available on our new lunch menu. There are also a great range of lighter, fresher dishes including a mackerel salad with roast beetroot and candied walnuts and Smiddy lamb koftas with tzatziki and salad. Check out our specials board for today’s soup, fish dish and other goodies. We hope you like the changes we’ve made!

We’re also very proud of Colin, one of our butchers, for making it to the final four of Meat Skills Scotland 2017, a nationwide butchery skills competition organised by Scottish Craft Butchers and Scottish Meat Training. The final will be held in Perth this May and we're sure he'll do a great job!

More parking spaces

Other news is an extended car park so please don’t be put off if you think we’re full. Often it’s that people meet at the Smiddy for lunch and have driven from different directions, so the café isn’t as full as it looks. We will upgrade the road in due course, but need to top up the bank account first! It’s been an expensive business getting up and running and we’re really pleased with how things are going, but it will be a wee while yet before the Tarmac goes down. In the meantime, thank you for driving slowly and bearing with us.

Outside seating has been ordered, so you can enjoy our glorious views with your meal or drinks and can bring your pooch. It should be with us in the next 3 weeks or so.
