It's been all go

We've had an eventful and successful few months.

It's good to be busy

Well, we have made it through the first three months without collapsing from exhaustion!  The festive season was a huge success, considering that we only opened at the end of October. The café has also been very busy and we have finally appointed our new manager, Alexandra Scott, who comes to us with a wealth of experience from various restaurants.

Listening to feedback

The Farm Shop seemed to mostly have what the customers needed and we have taken notes for next year so that we are even more organised.  The Butchery department sold all their turkeys and as for steak pies, they were flying out the door! Extra staff were employed to make more!  All the fabulous local beef, pork and lamb is being well received by our customers. We can barely keep our customers furnished with Leckie eggs. They are our top selling item. People are loving the fact that everything is locally sourced. The kitchen make use of all this fresh, local produce too and then it is served up in our café. The kitchen worked at full steam over the Christmas season and produced some delicious food and most of all, breakfasts. We had some excellent feedback on them, especially our magnificent Eggs Benedict. We have introduced roasts, from our local meat, to our menu and they are proving to be very popular indeed.

All the café staff worked so hard over Christmas and New Year making sure that as many people as possible were seated and served as quickly as possible.  Opening just before the busiest period of the year is very good training! Things went well and the quiet period we expected after Christmas hasn’t happened!

We are looking forward to a busy 2017 and to welcoming and meeting more customers and we will do our best to keep things new and exciting for you all.
